OUR BOARD
What is the board?
The TransitMatters board sets our organization’s mission, vision and values and makes strategic and budgetary decisions for the organization at a series of regular meetings. The board also aids in development/fundraising, recruitment, event planning, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, and conducts executive director searches when necessary. The board meets annually for a retreat in the first quarter of the calendar year and then on a monthly basis for the rest of the year. Meetings are hybrid or fully remote and are not open to the public; however, regular updates will be posted here for summaries of meetings.
Join the Board
We’re looking for new people from diverse backgrounds and locations to join our board. Transit, planning or engineering experience is not required, nor is living in the immediate Boston area. We’re open to hearing what you are passionate about and how we can integrate your passions and expertise into our organization. Examples include, but are certainly not limited to, housing, social justice, equity, land use, public policy and more. Geographic diversity is important to us and we welcome people to our board from across the Commonwealth and surrounding states.
